Charity Film Awards Winners!
Partners to The British Transplant Games
THANKYOU FOR VOTING - WE DID IT!
What a way to celebrate the 1st anniversary of our animations release, 'The FAB Gift Of Life', produced by Splash Entertainments Mike Young (AKA Super Ted).
We are so grateful to everyone that voted and shared our plea. THANKYOU!
We have managed to reach 8 million people globally and our animation is now on the welsh schools HWB as well as NHSBT website. With this new recognition, the sky is the limit!
Our next project is to translate the animation into the BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) languages to address the shortage of BAME organs available. Please get in touch if you would like to or know anyone who maybe be interested in partnering with us to sponsor a translation.
The Believe Team at the Charity Film Awards
The evening was a heart warming showcase of what can happen when people come together to help others and spread love and support out into the world.
Thanks MTI for getting us there and back in style!
As always Fraser Bear made some more celebrity friends including the lovely compere, Sally Phillips, best known for Bridget Jones Diary and Smack the Pony.
We are a partner of the British Transplant Games
Taking place in Newport this July and running for over 40 years, the 4-day event attracts around 1000 transplant athletes and more than 1500 supporters.
Transplant survivors including children as young as five can compete in more than 25 sports and many athletes also go on to compete at the World Transplant Games.
The Games are organised on behalf of Transplant Sport whose aim is to raise awareness of the need for organ donation, encourage transplant recipients to lead active lifestyles and show appreciating for, and remember, donors and their families.
Ricky is a lecturer in the School of Healthcare Sciences at Cardiff University. After completing his Nurse training in Cardiff Ricky spent a number of years working in Intensive Care during which he completed his MSc in Critical Care. Ricky then went on to work in Clinical Research prior to moving into academia.
He has been passionate about Organ and Tissue Donation throughout his career and has a particular research interest in how patients can improve healthcare systems. He has found the work of Believe to be inspiring and feels privileged to be associated with the charity.
Paul, a retired entrepreneur, enjoyed 20 years working for UK and European companies with particular emphasis on Sales and Marketing strategies.
He returned to Cardiff in 1983 and started his own company which he grew into a multi million pound international business by the time he sold it on retirement.
He is the grandfather of Fraser and has been involved in Believe, although in the background, since its formation.
Paul believes his experience can assist in growing Believe into a long term business.
Gavin is the director of Newport county FC.
Newport County have always supported the charity and even showed the animation on the big screen during their final Saturday home game. We wish them all the best at the play off final and it will be amazing to see Fraser Bear back at Wembley. Keep your eyes peeled. We are looking forward to working together with both Gavin and Newport county not only with The Transplant Games but within football globally.
This journalist and presenter met Anna Louise whilst producing a week in - week out documentary. A friendship was formed both inside and outside the media. Andrea, Anna and Mike Stephens are working on an American delegate scheme in November this year. With Andreas passion and interest in this subject we look forward to her views in developing the charity further.
THANKYOU AND BYE BYE KARA
Kara became involved with Believe following Stuart and Fraser’s deaths. Kara originally met Anna and Stuart at the hospital in 2008, during an antenatal appointment, when Fraser and Kara’s eldest, Sam, were still to be born.
Kara has been such an asset and a great friend to Anna and Believe. We will be sad to not have her on the team. We thank Kara for her hard work during her time as trustee but know she carries on supporting us in the future.
